Emma's New Hair!

 Crazy Hair Day!

My daughter has been begging for bright red hair for months. I've been telling her "NO" for just as long. Today, I caved and let her bleach it and dye it bright red! She LOVES it!  Here is the process!

We started with the bleach. This was the part I was most uncomfortable with. I'm just not thrilled with the idea of my 12 year old putting chemicals on her head, but I did at her age so I really couldn't argue against this too much.

 All bleached out and dried.

Her hair is super thick, and Walgreen's only had one dye kit so we tried an ombre sort of look!

The finished look! She absolutely loves her hair! I actually think it's pretty cute on her.

 Here is the back!

Here she is with her good friend, Bear. He's adorable!

  2. It actually doesn't look all that bad. She wears it well. Is there not a dress code at the school in regards to hair color?

    1. No, no dress code at her school. The kids are allowed to do anything they want with their hair.

  7. That's so fun! I would have loved to have that hair color at her age but my school didn't allow it. I'm glad she was able to do it!

  8. You are one awesome mom! I had so many hair colors when I was a teen... but my mother wouldn't let me bleach it haha. Teal comes out horribly. The green lasts forever.

    1. She's had purple, multi color chunks (pink, blue, red), teal (ugh-looked gray), a softer shade of red, green chunks and now this. I think this one is my favorite so far!

  10. It looks cute & she looks so happy with it.

In high school, I had red dyed over my light brown hair, with a shock of blonde and shaved the bottom from the back of my ears across (you really couldn't see that unless I had my hair in a pony tail though).
